Today marks Round 6 for Season 18 of the Alpha Touring Challenge (ATC) as brought to you on iRacing, powered by Syncmesh and Glass & Steel Photography and Design. We shall be taking a look back at all of the racing action which took place on Monday 19th October with the aim of bringing it to you as if it were live! It is time for this season’s Special Event, and in this edition it is all about horsepower! Our drivers’ cars have had their engine power increased by ten percent, and to complement this we are racing at the USA’s classic 4.04 mile power circuit: Road America. Consisting of 14 corners connected by extended straightaways, every mile per hour shall matter most! In the Alpha Drivers’ Championship, with drop scores now in effect, only 34 points separates our top five of Michael Polasek; Matthew Meilleur; Mia Rose; Wojciech Swirydowicz; and Logan McKinzie. All have shown their strengths thus far, but can any one of them begin to build a clear lead before we head into the second half of the season? In the Gamma Drivers’ Championship, whilst he may have had to watch the battle for the class win play out in front of him at Mosport, a fifth podium for Jon Lauzon at Mosport has meant he has remained on top by six points ahead of last round’s winner Ian Bertolucci. However, will Lauzon’s consistency or Bertolucci’s pace take victory today? In the Delta Drivers’ Championship, it was a round of hefty heartbreaks in Canada last week with both pole-sitter Austin Dunbar and Kyle Murray falling short of maiden career wins. Instead, Gareth McAlister took his third win of his career. Meanwhile, in the background Fouad Al-Rijleh now leads by 21 points ahead of J.B. DeJeu despite missing Mosport! Who shall take victory in our Elkhart Lake extravaganza? Tune in and find out! Our broadcast schedule for today is as follows (times in EDT/UTC-4): 2100 Broadcast Starts 2115 Qualifying (10 minutes) 2125 Special Race (32 laps) Syncmesh - https://sync-mesh.com/ The ATC is partnered with Syncmesh, the company which was born out of the pursuit of providing better gear specifically for sim-racing; ranging from gloves through to a full line of performance gear.
