Two People, One Dream: Building Their Own Home in the Heart of Nature

#OffGridHome #DIYHouse #Japan A New Life at 50: Building an Off-Grid Home and Creating Everything by Hand follows a Japanese couple in their fifties as they begin a new chapter of life surrounded by nature on Tanegashima Island, Japan. Instead of hiring a professional construction crew, they plan the project themselves, create their own drawings, and gradually build their small off-grid home step by step. From the main structure, rainwater collection, and independent power system to the kitchen cabinets, wardrobe, shoe rack, and other pieces of furniture, almost everything is designed and crafted by the couple themselves. They may not be professional builders or experienced carpenters, but through patience, careful planning, and a willingness to learn, they slowly transform their ideas into a real home. More than just a construction project, this is a shared journey — two people creating a place to live while making beautiful memories together at the age of 50.
