Lesson 3: How to Write Üchen Tibetan Alphabet

༄༅། །བརྙན་ཐུང་འདིའི་ནང་གསལ་བའི་དབུ་ཅན་ཡིག་གཟུགས་ནི་དུས་རབས་དགུ་པའི་འགོ་སྟོད་དུ་བྱོན་པའི་མཁས་པ་ཁྱུང་པོ་གཡུ་ཁྲི་མཆོག་གིས་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་འབྲི་ལུགས་ཀྱི་ཐིག་ཚད་འགོད་ཕྱོགས་བཞིན། བོད་ཡིག་དབུ་ཅན་ལ་ཆ་ཚད་ཐོག་མར་གཏན་འབེབས་གནང་སྟེ། བོད་ཡིག་དབུ་ཅན་གྱི་ཡིག་གཟུགས་སྤྱིའི་ཆ་ནས་ད་ལྟ་བར་དེ་ལྟར་གནས། བརྙན་ཐུང་ནང་གི་ཟུར་རྒྱན་པར་རིས་རྣམས་ཨ་མདོའི་ཡིག་མཁན་སྨོན་ལམ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ལགས་ཀྱིས་མཛད་པའི་ཡིག་གཟུགས་བློ་གསལ་སྤྱི་ནོར་ཞེས་པ་ལས་ཡིན་ཞིང་། དངོས་གཞི་འབྲི་མཁན་ནི་ཚང་སར་ཀུན་དགའ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཡིན་ནོ། ། In the 7th century, the great scholar Thönmi Sambhota standardized Tibetan language and writing. In early 9th century, the great calligrapher, Khyungpo Yutri, standardized the üchen script based on the metrics of mandalas. Thanks to him that the üchen script did not change much until today.
