Which P90 guitar wins the ultimate battle? In this video, I put my classic Epiphone Casino up against the sleek Yamaha Revstar (P90) in Sunset Burst! I was looking for a solidbody backup with more sustain for home recording, so I picked up the Revstar to see if it could rival my trusty hollowbody Casino. Both guitars are tested side-by-side through a Hughes & Kettner tube amp, pushing crunch tones with a Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde Overdrive alongside the TC Electronic Honeypot Fuzz and Reverb from the Universal Audio Del-Verb! Epiphone Casino: Ultra-lightweight hollowbody, comfortable neck profile, classic warm P90 bite. Yamaha Revstar (P90): Gorgeous Sunset Burst finish, solidbody sustain, punchy modern tone. My Honest Verdict: The Revstar looks stunning and sounds great, but is it worth keeping alongside the Casino? For me, the Casino's lighter weight and familiar feel won out in the end. I actually ended up returning the Revstar—and replaced it with a Squier Thinline Telecaster! 👇 Which P90 tone did you prefer? Let me know in the comments below!
