The Story of a Fire That Never Truly Died
Every fire has a beginning, a moment when a tiny spark turns into something powerful.
It dances, glows, spreads and transforms everything in its path. But even when the flames disappear, fire doesn’t always feel completely gone.
Sometimes, its story continues beneath the surface.
The outside turns dark, fragile and charcoal-black, while deep inside, a little warmth remains. Tiny traces of red, orange and golden yellow hide beneath the ashes, reminding us of the fire that once burned so brightly.
This collection was inspired by that very moment the beautiful contrast between flames and ashes, warmth and darkness, destruction and transformation.
I wanted each chalk piece to look as if it had been touched by fire: glowing yellow centers, fiery orange and red details, and dark, cooled surfaces that carry the memory of the flames.
Because sometimes, even after the fire goes out, its colors remain.
This is the first story in my Inspired by Nature series. And this is how I imagine fire. (I’m planning to create another fire-inspired collection using glow-in-the-dark paint and UV lighting, but this time with a volcanic theme. What do you think? I have a feeling some really amazing things are going to come out of this one. I can’t wait to experiment with it.)
What do you think? Does it give you that feeling of glowing embers after a fire?
For this collection, I wanted to create something that looks like fire that has almost burned out.
I tried to capture the look of chalk that is still glowing and burning from within, but has already cooled down and turned black and charred on the outside. That contrast between the dark, burnt surfaces and the bright colors underneath was exactly what I had in mind.
I deliberately used a lot of yellow to create that warm, glowing effect, almost like little pockets of fire hiding beneath the ashes. The reds and oranges bring everything together, while the black gives it that beautifully burnt look.
I’m really happy with how the textures and colors turned out! It feels like there’s still a little fire alive inside these pieces.
