Aaliyah Bilal, Pemi Aguda, Nana Ekua-Brew Hammond | Worlds in Miniature

Drawing from Aaliyah Bilal's examination of faith, family, and Black Muslim identity in her well-received debut, Temple Folk, and Pemi Aguda's exploration of spectral presences, folklore, and psychological landscapes in her phenomenal debut collection of short stories, Ghostroots, this conversation explores how ritual, community, memory, myth, and the supernatural can anchor entire universes in brief fiction. Recorded live at The Africa Center as part of the New York Black and African Literature Festival (NYBALF) — a multi-disciplinary platform connecting continental Africa and the global Black diaspora through literature, culture, and dialogue.
