Join me for an early morning wildlife photography adventure in Kingston, Ontario, as I head out before sunrise in search of swans, great egrets, herons, and other birds around the local wetlands. In this video, I take you along with me in the field and show the real experience of wildlife photography: getting into position, staying low, waiting patiently, dealing with the cold, and sometimes spending a long time waiting for absolutely nothing to happen. But patience eventually pays off, with some beautiful encounters with swans, a great egret, and even a bird of prey. I also share some thoughts about getting closer to wildlife without disturbing it, shooting from a very low angle near the water, using camouflage, and why patience is one of the most important skills in wildlife photography. For this outing I used my Nikon Zf paired with the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary, a combination I really enjoy for bird and wildlife photography. This is the first episode in my Wildlife Photography Adventures series, where I’ll be sharing real in-the-field photography sessions, wildlife encounters, camera gear, techniques, locations, and the occasional unexpected surprise. If you enjoy wildlife photography, bird photography, nature photography, or simply spending time outdoors, consider liking the video and subscribing for more.
