Why Are We Always Performing? Finding Grace Behind the Masks | Turning Toward the Light

Have you ever felt like you are constantly performing for the people around you, worried that if anyone saw the unedited version of your life, you would not be enough? Between curated social media feeds and the daily pressure to keep up appearances, living authentically can feel terrifying. In this message from our series Turning Toward the Light, Pastor Tabitha explores Matthew 6:1-6 and 16-21. Drawing on the 1999 sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest and the inspiring story of Samuel Stone, a neighbor who gave away secret gifts during the Great Depression, we explore how grace invites us to step off the stage, drop the script, and rest in a love that never has to be earned.
