What does motorcycle racing look like before the race begins? A quiet walk through the paddock at the Bohumil Staša Grand Prix 2026 at Brno Circuit, Czech Republic. This was filmed during a Saturday morning of practice and qualifying, when riders and teams were preparing their motorcycles for the track. Away from the racing itself, the paddock reveals another side of motorsport — motorcycles being worked on, riders getting ready, small teams operating from vans and tents, families and friends sharing the weekend, and people doing much of the work themselves. Some setups are large. Others are remarkably simple. What they share is a passion for motorcycle racing. I tried to film this respectfully. A paddock is not only a workplace — for a race weekend it also becomes a temporary home for many of the people taking part. Some moments are better left outside the camera. The event carries the name of Bohumil Staša, one of the great figures of Czechoslovak motorcycle road racing. No commentary. No staged scenes.
