Ukraine's Operation Vivaldi has broken Putin's northern pincer around Donbas. After three seasons, the 3rd Army Corps under Brigadier General Andriy Biletskyi has taken back 176 square kilometers north of Lyman, inflicted more than 5,000 Russian casualties and taken over 250 Russian soldiers prisoner, some as whole units together with their officers. On September 30, Zelensky went to the Lyman front himself, met the corps and the Kraken regiment, and announced plans for a fourth season. Moscow answered with silence, old footage and AI-generated "flag-planting" videos that its own war bloggers exposed. In this breakdown we show how the operation was built, how false reports went all the way up to the Kremlin, what Russia has lost north of Lyman, and the three directions season four can take next.
