Just 75 km from Bangalore near Jalamangala village, Ramanagara – this 3,800 ft monolith is still raw, quiet and super beginner-friendly. ● Why you should do it : It's a night-to-sunrise trek. You start at 3:30 AM with torches through forest trails, rocky patches and small natural caves. And by 5:30 AM you are at the top, watching the whole Ramanagara valley light up in orange. No shops, no noise – just wind and 360° views. At the peak there is a small Lakshmi Narayana temple [open only on weekends] and ruins of an old fort wall. Local legend says the hill is named after Lord Vishnu. ● Distance from Bangalore : 75 km ● Trek Distance : 5-6 km total [up & down] ● Difficulty : Easy to Moderate ● Duration : 35 min up, 20 min down ● Best Time : October to March for sunrise, June-Sept for lush green ● Ideal for : First-timers, groups, photographers ● Travel Tips : 1.
