Chinese Strangers Asked Me a Question I Couldn’t Answer

What started as a normal 7-hour train journey across China quickly turned into an interesting travel experience As soon as I boarded the train, fellow passengers began asking questions. Was I Chinese? Was I from Xinjiang? How could I speak Chinese so fluently? What followed was hours of conversations, shared sunflower seeds, stories, laughter, and incredible hospitality from complete strangers. Then someone asked me a simple question: “How did your Chinese dad and British mum meet?” The problem was… I didn’t know. The passengers insisted I call my parents and find out.
