Am I Training My Replacement? The Reality of AI at Work What happens when the technology you're helping train could someday change the job you've worked so hard to build? After 15 years with the same organization and 10 years in medical coding, I'm finding myself facing a new reality. AI is entering our workplace, and the role of medical coders may be changing in ways we never expected. I've invested years in my career, earned my CPC and CEMC credentials, and worked hard to keep up with the ever-changing world of medical coding. Now I'm wondering what the future holds. At 61, I'm not ready to retire, and I'm certainly not ready to give up a career I still enjoy. But I also realize that change is happening, whether we're ready for it or not.
