Oklou - fall [a.g. cook remix] (Terminal 5, NYC 5/3/26)

The last time I saw Oklou was when she opened for Caroline Polachek at this very same venue back in 2021. I was a fan of her first album "Galore", and with the release of "Choke Enough", her stardom has only grown. After being unable to see her on last tour, it was a relief to me to be able to catch her here. If you've been to Terminal 5, you know the street outside is a miserable and cold wind tunnel that saps all your warmth and happiness from your body while waiting. Lining up starting 4pm for the 7pm doors, I wasn't screwing around. Two guys, Gavin and Seamus arrived just a minute before me so I ended up third in line and was easily able to get to the front. Ninajirachi's opening set has us jumping and dancing the whole time and it was the perfect remedy to warm our cold bodies. That got us properly prepared for Oklou's beautifully moody and dark set. It was a hard capture with all the strobe and flashing lights as well as complete darkness at times. While my camera might not have picked it all up, I still have an amazing time with my friends Sai and Connie and a new friend I made to my right, Winnie. I only wish she would have included "unearth me" on the setlist, then my life would be complete.
