🔗 Buy Fragrance Without Overpaying, Getting Faked, or Wearing It Wrong: fitch.handoverbooks.com
Spot a fake, read batch codes, and stop overpaying for old bottles:
A vintage perfume listing can look irresistible late at night. The bottle is discontinued, the box appears old, and the seller has used all the words collectors hope to see. Rare. Original. Hard to find. Before you let those words decide for you, there are a few quiet details worth studying.
I spent thirty-one years behind a department store fragrance counter, including time checking disputed returns against reference samples and batch records. An old bottle can be lovely, wearable, and worth owning. It can also be poorly stored, incomplete, damaged, or simply priced as though age alone made it valuable. In this video, I show you how I would slow down and assess a vintage bottle before handing over money, whether it is on a table in front of you or photographed on a marketplace listing.
Here is what I put under the counter light:
1. Why discontinued does not automatically mean collectible
2. The four things to judge before the seller's price
3. Chips, cracks, and cloudiness in vintage glass
4. Why a missing stopper can cut value sharply
5. How to inspect perfume color against white paper
6. Batch codes, maker's marks, labels, and box printing
7. The photo requests to make before an online purchase
8. Why miniatures can be the safer first buy
This will not guarantee that an old bottle smells exactly as you remember, because even a carefully researched purchase can disappoint once it is opened.
What discontinued perfume would you most like to find intact, and what city or state would you be hunting for it in?
If you enjoy fragrance advice that treats the bottle, the price tag, and the sales pitch honestly, subscribe and keep Eleanor nearby at the counter.
Keep the price card face-down until the bottle has spoken.
