Vince Gill opens up his collection for Gearcheck, walking us through six instruments that each carry a piece of country and bluegrass history. Some of these guitars have stories as remarkable as the players who owned them. There’s the Mark Whitebook guitar that belonged to bluegrass legend Clarence White, a 1950 Fender Broadcaster once owned by Jabo Arrington, longtime guitarist for Little Jimmy Dickens, and a Martin D-45 from luthier Harry Sparks. Along the way, Vince shares the history behind each one and why they matter to him. “When guitars have a story, the story is cooler than the guitar.” – Vince Gill From rare pieces with deep roots to the instruments that have shaped his own storied career, this is a look at a collection few people ever get to see up close.
