Excavator Rows a Boat Through Water Hyacinth to Deliver a Bulldozer | Mekong Delta, Vietnam

In the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, a canal is completely covered with water hyacinth. A small excavator sits on its own boat, plants its bucket into the canal and pulls the boat forward, opening the way. Behind it, a longtail boat pushes a barge carrying a bulldozer. At the end of the trip, the excavator clears the riverbank to make a landing, steel ramps go down, and the bulldozer drives off the barge onto land. In the second half: twin bulldozers at work in the rice fields, pushing giant rolls of mud along the field toward a farmhouse garden. Real sounds of the machines, no talking.
