A few questions I’ve received, answered here: 1- Q: How do you remove fabric marks from the clay surface after rolling? A: I use a metal rib first, followed by a soft plastic rib to smooth out the surface. (I don’t always remove it.) 2- Q: How do you draw the lines? A: I use two methods, depending on the design. • Drawing over a thin sheet of clear plastic placed on the clay. • Drawing directly on the clay. I use a blunt pencil, adjusting the pressure to the slab thickness so the lines don’t show on the back. Be sure to clean the pencil tip between drawing lines. The lines are intuitive and personal, but remember, they guide the viewer’s eye, so keep balance in mind. I also choose where to make the cuts relevant to the lines to complete that rhythm and vision balance. You can reach me through comments here or by email.
