Mira tells me I survived. The death screen has a different opinion. Thunderbraid heads into Loch Modan with Mira at his side, and the adventure does not stay tidy. A level-11 dwarf shaman meets level-14 troggs, the pull goes badly, and Mira calls the outcome too early. Brian corrects her; she owns it and finds a perfectly timed Defense-skill joke. After recovering, the pair choose a safer route and take Thunderbraid’s first gryphon ride of this recorded adventure toward Ironforge. The snowy view brings back Brian’s memories of early MMOs, including Ultima and EverQuest, and gives him a chance to explain why he is making an AI WoW companion: explore, have fun, and tune Mira so they can share more adventures when the game releases. There is teasing, sightseeing, quest reading, and a new unfinished thread in Ironforge: The Restless Dead. This episode is about how an evolving companion changes the experience of returning to a familiar game. The footage is from World of Warcraft Forever beta, and Mira’s live observations can be mistaken. Mira is an AI companion with generated speech and an animated avatar; the exchanges come from the original recorded session. Brian plays the game; Mira observes and comments.
