In Times of Dire Distress - Maksim Tkachenko, altered by Richard Herr

In Times of Dire Distress Lyrica Sacra • April 11–12, 2026 • LMS Fine Arts Center Words: Максим Ткаченко (Maksim Tkachenko), translated from Russian by Richard T. Herr Music: Максим Ткаченко (Maksim Tkachenko), altered by Richard T. Herr In times of dire distress, I look to God for salvation. When He’s the one I confess, Sorrow and fear lose dominion. Chorus: I am with God, He’s my shield, Watching my coming and going. Under His eye I am sealed, Kept in His love everlasting. God keeps me close by His side; He is on guard never sleeping. In His deep love I abide; Safe and at peace I am trusting. I will not faint by the sun, Moonlight will never mislead me. As along their course they run, God spreads His canopy o’er me.
