Magnets that I used https://link.amazon/B0jdf4P5v Tilt brackets I used https://link.amazon/B0eB6A9ZO Solar panels I used https://link.amazon/B0h6XO5QJ I wanted a way to mount and tilt solar panels on my shipping container without drilling a single hole in the roof, so I built my own adjustable magnetic solar panel mounting system. In this video I show the complete build from start to finish — putting together the adjustable tilt brackets, installing the heavy-duty magnets, mounting the solar panel, and testing it on top of my shipping container. The idea was to make something that could be installed on almost any suitable steel surface while still being removable and adjustable. The panel can sit lower or be tilted toward the sun for better solar production, and there are no permanent holes drilled into the roof. This setup could be useful for shipping containers, Connex boxes, steel sheds, metal buildings, workshops, and other steel-roof applications. ⚠️ Always make sure magnets, brackets, fasteners, and wind-loading requirements are appropriate for your specific installation. A secondary mechanical safety restraint is a good idea for any exposed outdoor installation. If you like DIY solar, RV projects, battery systems, and off-grid builds, subscribe for more projects.
