The Treasure Worth Everything The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Priceless Pearl Matthew 13:44-46 Main Idea: When we truly behold the surpassing worth of Jesus Christ and His kingdom, everything else becomes worth surrendering for the joy of having Him. OUTLINE 1) The Treasure REVEALED Why do some see the treasure while others remain blind to it? 2) The Treasure RECOGNIZED What makes Christ and His kingdom worth more than everything else? 3) The Treasure RECEIVED What does joyful surrender actually look like in the life of a disciple? Application Questions. Ask Yourself... What does the way I live reveal about how deeply I treasure Jesus Christ? What earthly things most often compete with Christ for my heart, my affections, and my pursuit of happiness? What am I most reluctant to surrender for the sake of following Christ, and what does that reveal about where I find my security and satisfaction? If someone examined the way I spend my time, money, and energy, would they see evidence that Christ is my greatest treasure? Where have my affections for Christ grown cold or distracted, and how can I intentionally cultivate a deeper delight in knowing Him?
