At the cradle of the Rivière aux Pommes, in Pont-Rouge, Québec, a quiet pond gives rise to the waters of a river. On this overcast autumn day, a few raindrops fall upon the water beneath a sky veiled in grey. There is no dramatic weather, no grand spectacle—only the understated beauty of a place where the natural world unfolds at its own gentle pace. The images are accompanied by my own original music, spontaneously composed and performed on the hammered dulcimer, an instrument whose piano-like tones lend themselves to moments of quiet reflection. The music was created freely, in the spirit of the moment, rather than written in advance.
