See what it takes to feed our family of 13 for the week! ❤️ Meal Plan Below the story of Chloe's surgery:
Here is the story about Chloe and her trip to the ER. I'll give a bit more of the story in our next "What we eat in a week vlog" (which has sort of turned into a "week in the life" style vlog too 😊.) Chloe has been struggling with some intermittent pain and stiffness in her hip. It seemed to correspond with a viral infection, but we weren't sure. We tried to get an appointment to see her pediatrician and the earliest we could see the doctor was April 9th. So we were in a mode of just trying to help her feel as good as possible until then. On Tuesday morning Marc gave her some Advil and it helped with the inflammation, in fact she was able to walk almost normally again! But then she slipped on a cardboard box on the floor and felt a lot of pain, she couldn't walk. So Marc took her to the ER. She was taken back almost immediately and an orthopedic surgeon had some x rays done. She had a fracture at the growth plate of the ball joint of the hip. It is a soft area and this sometimes happens in children Chloe's age because of rapid growth and the soft bone, causing weakness in the area. So we aren't sure if the inflammation caused a problem that made things weaker, or if the fracture was there all along, but less severe. Either way it was a miracle how things worked out because if we had to wait for the pediatrician to refer us to the specialist it might have taken weeks (or months!) They irrigated her hip area during the surgery (which hopefully will clear out any residual inflammation) and put a screw to hold the section of her joint together as it heals. This should stay in for 2 months to allow for full healing and reconnection. She is thankfully on the mend it seems and feels much better. The day after the surgery she was able to walk! She loves going to the park and playing , but for now she is supposed to resist jumping and running while it heals. But she is supposed to walk on it as gentle weight bearing helps it heal. Anyway thank you for your prayers and advice! We'll let you know how things progress. Thank you for the love.🙏❤️

This week we are shopping on Wednesday because on Tuesday Chloe had her surgery and Marc stayed overnight with her at the hospital. She was resting up withe the big kids while Marc and I got the groceries for the week. It's amazing how much you appreciate the new food coming in when the fridge is so bare! We go to Costco, Trader Joe's and Lincoln Market. We take Anna (11), Enoch (7), Melody (5), Moses (2), & Neta (3 months).
