Day 4 – The Bayou State Trail | Beaver Dam to Minden

Day 4 out here on the Bayou State Trail. I packed up early from Beaver Dam Campground and headed south toward Minden — about 11 miles of trail and heat. I got turned around at one point and had to call Brian to help get me back on track. Eventually, I found my way to the road and pushed through the sun to town. Minden was a much-needed resupply stop. First thing I did? Crushed a Philly cheesesteak foot-long from Subway. Then I wandered over to Johnny’s Pizza where I lucked out — the buffet was about to be tossed and they let me eat for free. Absolute trail magic. I spent a while charging batteries, editing the video, and enjoying some air conditioning before grabbing supplies at Walgreens and Walmart. I picked up some waterproof tape for the blisters (which are finally improving) and DEET to keep the bugs at bay. I found a decent stealth spot just beyond the Walmart fence and settled in. Just before bed i decided to run lver to sonic for a burger an slushi. Another hot, strange, and rewarding day on this new Louisiana long trail.
