Latin ZZ Top [Full Album] (Latin Acid Rock)

Roll & Toast Records is proud to announce the release of Latin ZZ Top (a fictional band), the scorching album from Mexican-American veteran guitar slinger Rocky Santero — a record that answers the question nobody thought to ask: What if Santana and the East L.A. lowrider scene had rolled into a Texas roadhouse and never left? The answer, it turns out, is nine tracks of pure, fire-breathing genius. Santero — raised on a steady diet of Chicano rock bands and late-night ZZ Top radio sessions bleeding through the border — delivers a collection that feels both like a rediscovered artifact from 1974 and something that could soundtrack a midnight drive down Whittier Boulevard right now. The concept is deceptively simple: take the greasy, boogie-hammered catalog of the Mighty Men from Texas and run it through a Chicano rock filter soaked in congas, afro-cuban grooves and Santero's own mescal-drenched, sustain-heavy guitar tone. The result is nothing short of revelatory.
