4 bonsai, 1256 days, one camera. Three of them started as seeds from the grocery store – two avocados and a pomegranate. The fourth started as a tree I cut down to a stump. All of them filmed from the first day, one frame every few minutes. 0:00 Avocado Bonsai #1 – 368 days, root over rock 2:17 Pomegranate Bonsai – 370 days, from a supermarket pomegranate to flowers 4:09 Bonsai from a Stump – 140 days, trunk chop to a new crown 6:08 Avocado Bonsai #2 – 378 days, wiring, defoliation, the full year Is any of this a "real" bonsai? Purists will say no – these are young trees in training. But that's exactly what every bonsai is at this stage What should I turn into a bonsai next? Coconut, mango and cherry are leading the votes so far. #bonsai #timelapse #avocado
