(9/25/26) Friday FULL forecast - Baja California Sur bracing for a direct hit from Polo, flooding threat may be rising in Imperial County. Hurricane Polo is once again a Category 5 storm with winds of 180 mph. Polo will likely stay a Cat 5 through tomorrow before making a sharp right-hand turn to the north. Landfall as a strong Category 2 storm is expected in Baja California Sur near Sonora on Monday. Major impacts, including storm surge, flooding, mudslides, and power outages, are expected. In #SoCal, we expect an area of low pressure to help pull tropical moisture from both #Polo and #Odalys northward by Sunday. We will likely notice a big increase in humidity in both #SanDiegoCounty and #ImperialCounty. In Imperial County, there is a chance of thunderstorms on Sunday. There is a low chance that some of these storms could train over the same location and lead to isolated flooding. At the beaches, surf will increase through Monday, with both coastal erosion and minor coastal flooding possible. Temperatures will be bouncing around a lot over the next few days, but tomorrow looks pretty hot area-wide.
