My Cuties Due at Two-to-Two Today | 1926 | Forgotten Favourites | Nicole Hulett

"My Cuties Due at Two-to-Two Today" lyrics by Leo Robin, music by Albert Von Tilzer I did this song last year but i've since upgraded microphones and found a better accompaniment. It's one of my very favorites from the 20's to both sing and listen to, enjoy! The Readers Digest Songbook Of Unforgettable Musical Memories' says: Bamberger's, the great old Newark, New Jersey, department store, was at least partly responsible for this favorite - and for launching Leo Robin on a long and productive song writing career. It was 1926, and Robin was fresh in from Pittsburgh, looking for work. "I got an offer of $50 to write a lyric for the third anniversary of Bamberger's basement," he recalled. "They teamed me with Albert Von Tilzer, who was a very big deal at the time, and we wrote a thing called 'Our Baby's Three Years Old'. It did the job". The two collaborated again soon after, this time on "My Cutey's Due." The song was recorded by Ted Weems' orchestra and became Robin's first among such enduring hits as "Thanks For The Memory," "Louise," "Beyond The Blue Horizon" and "Love In Bloom."
