The Lazy Kaido: A longer, more chill bicycle tour on and off Japan’s Shimanami Kaido—5 days!

Most bicyclists ride Japans’s famous cycle path, the Shimanami Kaido, in a day or two. We went for the full experience on our Bromptons, slowing down and enjoying all the islands have to offer. We rode the official Kaido, but added in a whole lot more from Onimichi and Kajima town, to Setodacho and Yochiumicho, Imabari, and finally, Kure. Why blitz the 70km from Onamichi to Imabari in a day when you can slow down and do 160 over a super-chill five days? Come along for a beatific mix of scenic coastal riding, massive engineering marvels, hidden island gems, and unforgettable local food. No AI of any kind was used in the creation of this video.
