Trains at Hitchin 12/4/25

It was my very first time in Hitchin and I always wanted to do this one because there's a footbridge just south of the Station which is very popular to go to. The drivers of each train that pass under this footbridge are very nice people and they like to sound off their horn to say hello to anyone standing on the footbridge watching them speed by or pass by when approaching or departing Hitchin Station and they are friendly as well. Everything was great so far until later on there was a problem. After the Class 221 Super Voyager operated by Grand Central passed beneath the footbridge on the Down Fast Line, the rest of the Fast Trains that were meant run on the Down Fast Line were diverted onto the Down Slow Line between Woolmer Green Junction and Hitchin because a Pink Foil Balloon got caught and tangled on the upper section of the Overhead Catenary between Stevenage and Hitchin which caused those Fast services to be re-routed onto the Down Slow Line for a short distance until they can rejoin the Down Fast Line after passing through Hitchin and continue from London towards Peterborough. It caused those Fast Services to run a bit late because of that but, the other Fast Services on the Up Fast Line and Semi-Fast Services on the Up Slow Line heading to London were not affected.
