Percy X – X-Track (Lindsey Herbert Remix) 4. Percy X – Dark N Sharp (Voicedrone & Gareth Wild Remix) For the third instalment of the SOMA35 series, Soma Records turns to one of the most important artists in the label's history: Percy X. Tony Scott, the Glasgow producer behind the Percy X alias, has been part of the Soma family since 1994, with his debut X-Tracks establishing a relationship that would become one of the label's longest-running. Over the years, Percy X has delivered a substantial body of work for Soma, including the albums Spyx, Gain and Where's The Music, alongside a string of influential EPs and singles. His stripped-back, machine-driven approach became an important part of Soma's early identity and remains deeply embedded in the label's catalogue. For SOMA35.3, four contemporary voices in the form of Surgeon, Phara, Lindsey Herbert and Voicedrone & Gareth Wild, take on material from the Percy X catalogue, bringing distinctly different approaches to a body of work that has remained relevant across multiple generations of techno.
