L-functions and Quantum Field Theory (RH Saga S1E10)

This is the tenth episode of the RH Saga Support PeakMath on Ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/peakmath The magnetic moment of the electron is one of the fundamental constants of nature that can be predicted by quantum field theory. Quite surprisingly, the Feynman diagram computations of QFT give rise to expressions involving special values of L-functions, and more general periods. Recent groundbreaking work by many authors is just beginning to scratch the surface of these connections between physics and number theory. Diving deeper into these mysteries, we may also hope to find some further clues in the search for a geometry over the field with one element.
