A morning prayer for the waiting season, for anybody who asked God for something a long while ago and has heard nothing back since. A Christian morning prayer about waiting on God, and why His quiet has never once meant His absence. What if the silence you have been standing in was never God deciding? Nothing is wrong today. Nobody is ill, the day ahead is a normal one. There is just something we handed God a while ago that is still sitting where we left it, and somewhere along the way we quietly stopped bringing it up. This is a prayer for the gap. We find the word in the middle of a famous verse that most of us have walked straight past, and discover that the one place God describes His own quiet, He files it under love. We read a psalm that begins asking God not to go silent and ends in a song, with the middle left blank. We hear a man told his words were heard from the first day. We watch a new song arrive before anything was resolved. And we finish with a seed doing all of its work at night while the man who sowed it sleeps. Then we pray, at length, over the day itself. The first hour. The work. The people. The road. Provision inside it. The decisions. And the middle of the morning, when the quiet comes back. There is singing over your life you have not been able to hear yet. Scriptures in this prayer: Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Psalm 28:1, 6, 7 Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me. Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Daniel 10:12 Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. Psalm 40:1, 3 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Mark 4:26, 27, 28 So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
