Three Plays for a Quarter | Original 1950s Rock ’n’ Roll & Doo-Wop – The Starlighters

“Three Plays for a Quarter” is an original 1950s-style rock ’n’ roll and doo-wop song by The Starlighters — packed with three-part vocal harmony, rockabilly rhythm, boogie piano, slap bass, jukebox charm and pure malt-shop fun. One shiny quarter. Three jukebox plays. One sweetheart. And Ricky is absolutely sure that’s all he needs for the perfect night. Well… almost. It’s 1959 at the corner malt shop. Sophie is waiting by the jukebox, Ricky has exactly twenty-five cents in his pocket, and Vinny and Danny are already wondering how long it’ll take him to make a fool of himself. 🎶 “Three plays for a quarter! One, two, three! Three plays for a quarter! And all three belong to you and me!” The first record rocks. The second gets sweet. And by the third one, Ricky realizes something important: That was his LAST quarter. Hot dog, Romeo. 😎 THE STARLIGHTERS Ricky Hale — Lead Vocal Vinny Brooks — Tenor Harmony Danny Colwell — Baritone & Bass Harmony THE SOUND: • Original 1950s-style rock ’n’ roll • Doo-wop three-part vocal harmony • Rockabilly guitar • Slap upright bass • Boogie-woogie piano • Vintage drums and handclaps • Jukebox and malt-shop atmosphere • Classic American oldies energy If you dig 1950s rock ’n’ roll, doo-wop, rockabilly, jukebox music, vintage oldies, vocal trios, malt shops, sock hops and good old-fashioned American romance, you’ve come to the right joint. 👍 Dig this tune?
