What FIRST-AID KIT Mountain Rescue use | PAIN relief & Entonox

Part of the many Mountain Rescue UK first aid kit is Entonox, which is the brand name for a mix of oxygen and Nitrous oxide. Mountain Rescue teams carry the gas, which is used as a part of pain relief medication. Entonox is sometimes known as laughing gas and can be used during childbirth (gas & air), end-of-life care and trauma. Buxton Mountain Rescue, as well as all other mountain rescue teams in the UK, carry several different response bags onto the hill. Team members undergo regular first aid training, with extensive training to be able to safely and extensively use all of the search and rescue gear used by the team in the Peak District National Park. The response bags carried by Buxton mountain rescue consist of: Bag 1 which contains the medical kit. Bag 2 which contains two bottles of Oxygen. Bag 3 which contains Entonox Bag 4 splints, casualty (sleep) bag and other items to make the casualty comfortable. Bag 5 large casualty bag Bag 6 vacuum (all body splint) mattress.
