Everybody has heard of Clint Eastwood’s Oscar winning Western Unforgiven, but not so many know about its official Japanese Samurai remake directed by Lee Sang-il, so this video covers everything you need to know about forgotten Japanese remake, including the behind the scenes story of how it came to be, how the remake differs from the original Unforgiven and what Clint Eastwood had to say about this Japanese take on his most beloved Western. For those unaware of the film, Unforgiven (Yurusarezaru Mono) is a 2013 Japanese remake of Unforgiven (1992) , directed by Lee Sang-il and starring Ken Watanabe. The film relocates the story from the American Wild West to frontier-era Hokkaido in the early Meiji period, replacing Clint Eastwood's retired gunslinger William Munny with Jubei Kamata, a former samurai haunted by his violent past. When a bounty is offered for two men who mutilated a prostitute, Jubei reluctantly joins a hunt that forces him to confront the brutality he has tried to leave behind. ► Video Chapters 0:00 Unforgiven Japanese Remake EXPLAINED 0:20 The Making Of Unforgiven 2013 Remake 2:20 Unforgiven (2013) Plot Recap 3:10 Unforgiven (1992) & Unforgiven (2013) Plot Comparisons 5:10 Unforgiven (1992) & Unforgiven (2013) Character Compassions 6:31 Unforgiven Remake (2013) Review ► Recommended Video To Watch Next You might also want to check out this video covering 20 Things You Didn't Know About Unforgiven:    • Unforgiven: 20 Things You Didn't Know [1992]   ► About Just Westerns If you are new to the channel, welcome and thank you for watching the video above!
