Decline and Arrogance (4:36-5:49): Over thousands of years, Sahastrabahu became arrogant and greedy for power. Driven by his arrogance, he then went to his distant uncle, Sage Jamadagni's ashram, to take the divine cow Kapila. When the sage refused, Sahastrabahu destroyed the ashram and killed Jamadagni. Battle with Parshuram and Demise (5:49-6:58): Jamadagni's son, Ramabhadra (later known as Parshuram), attacked Sahastrabahu's army. A fierce battle ensued between Sahastrabahu and Ram Bhargava. Initially, Sahastrabahu killed Ram Bhargava, but Lord Shiva, with the help of Lord Vishnu, resurrected him and gave him the divine axe, the "Parshu," hence he was named Parshuram. Upon seeing Parshuram, Sahastrabahu recognized him as his lord, an incarnation of Vishnu, and surrendered himself. Parshuram then cut off Sahastrabahu Kartavirya Arjuna's thousand arms and killed him.
