Solar Panels on Flat Roofs - Lab Fire Test: A comparison of conventional and vertical PV panels

This video showcases a fire test comparing conventional flat roof solar installations, vertical solar panels, and roofs without solar panels. The test on the right represents a roofing setup without a fire retardant layer. During the test, a small wood-crib fire spreads significantly beneath the low-angle solar panels, but remains contained when vertical solar panels are installed. The results conclude that conventional flat roof solar installations can increase fire risk, potentially making a fire incident more severe compared to roofs without solar panels.
