May 18, 2026 — I went fishing at Hastings Lock 18 on the Trent-Severn Waterway in Ontario, Canada, with my white Westie dog. The plan was simple: try to catch walleye around the lock using lures. The spot looked perfect — current, structure, and lots of fishy water. But this time, the big walleye never showed up. After struggling with artificial lures, a kind old man fishing beside me gave me some small live bait to try. I didn’t land a big fish this time, but the trip still turned into a great memory. No big walleye today — but I’ll be back for revenge.
