From the Telugu movie - Vālmiki (వాల్మీకి) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valmiki...) Courtesy: SHALIMAR VIDEOS Valmiki Maharshi is the author of Ramayana. This video from the movie portrays the transformation of Valmiki from a cruel hunter to a sage. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) plays the character of Valmiki (named in the film as Raksha before transformation) and Eelapaati Raghuramaiah plays the character of Narada Maharshi in this episode. Raksha, the hunter and thief, wants to please his wife and aspires for a necklace being held with Narada at the moment. Narada tells Raksha that the latter has been committing sins through his deeds which he would have to repay in the form of suffering. Besides, Narada asks him if his wife were to share the effects of sin as well just like sharing the pleasure of objects he brings her. Raksha asks his followers, parents and wife if they are going to share his sins as he has been doing everything to please them only. He gets shocked when they all deny it for their own reasons. This impact makes Raksha introspect and evaluate himself for what end he is leading this kind of living when everything is going to be in vain. Narada Maharshi helps Raksha to see through the purpose of life and initiates him with the sacred ashtakshara mantra "Om Namo Narayanaya". With penance and perseverance, Raksha annihilates the sinful tendencies accumulated in his mind and evolves as Valmiki Maharshi perceiving Truth.
