Seymour Railway Heritage Centre's Wimmera Weekender, The Overland & PN Freights- 22/5/22

Video from the 22nd of May 2022 and my first trip back to the Murtoa area in a while came about with the second day of the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre's 'Wimmera Weekender' tour operated as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations for the railway reaching Murtoa. The tour was hauled throughout by the all-VR liveried combo of S303, T357 and P22 on the short rake of Spirit of Progress cars the group has forming their Standard Gauge fleet and made two trips onto the Hopetoun branch over the two days. The second day seen here had them running to Beulah before returning to Murtoa where we pick them up at Minyip on the way back in the afternoon running as 8796, before catching it again on arrival at Murtoa. Also seen were a couple of Pacific National freights (4PM4 and 5PM5) as well as Journey Beyond Rail's 'The Overland', still making its' way between Adelaide and Melbourne a couple of times a week though much diminished when compared to what it was forty-odd years ago.
