The Communion Table

The Communion Table is the spiritual center of the Sanctuary. Designed in the shape of the **Tau Cross**, traditionally associated with the cross lifted up by Moses in the wilderness and representing the cross of prophecy, it stands one step above the chancel floor and is positioned away from the wall to distinguish it from an altar. Its placement ensures that there are no visual barriers between the congregation and the elements of the Lord's Supper. Carved into the walnut tabletop are the cross and the **Sun of Righteousness**, whose rays symbolize glory and whose circle represents eternity. Along the edge of the table are **eleven small crosses**, representing the eleven faithful disciples. The marble base is carved with the Greek letters *Alpha and Omega*
