The mighty Lanz Bulldog put's it's best foot forward and shows why it was and still is the king of the hot bulbs. This unit, like most Lanz's, is equipped with two drawbars, one for drawing implements and another set higher to deliberately pull the rear drive wheels down for maximum drag traction it is known by most as a "Euro hitch". For this reason it is not uncommon to see Lanz tractors lift their front wheels off the ground while dragging heavy loads such as timber. This 1952 model produces 45 horsepower at a stately 630 rpm from its massive 10.3 litre displacement single cylinder hot bulb engine. The engine now is fueled with modern diesel with lubricity additives, but can run on a variety of oil based distillates. Joyously filmed at the Broxburn Single Cylinder Tractor Show in Lethbridge, Alberta.
