10 Anime Power Systems That Actually Make Sense

What makes an anime power system actually GOOD? Not how strong it is. We scored 20 power systems on seven criteria — clear rules, real costs, creativity, consistency, strategy, story and influence — and the best ones all share one thing. In this video, Ten counts down the 10 best power systems in anime and explains how each one works: the rules, the costs, the smartest fights, and the moments where the story bends its own rules. Plus: why two of the best-selling manga of all time didn't make the top 10. 🔍 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN • The Death Note's rules: 40 seconds, 6 minutes 40 seconds, and the fake 13-day rule • Why Geass's "once per person" limit makes Code Geass a chess game • How Frieren's magic ages, and why hiding your mana is the best trick • The pinky-toe test and the drawback rule behind My Hero Academia's Quirks • Witch Hat Atelier's drawn glyphs: sigil, signs and ring • Why World Trigger plays like a tactics game (and its hero's power level is 2) • How JoJo's Stands were invented, and why the strongest Stand rarely wins • Binding vows, Domain Expansion and Nanami's overtime in Jujutsu Kaisen • Equivalent Exchange and the Philosopher's Stone in Fullmetal Alchemist • What every great power system has in common ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 Ghosts that throw punches 0:31 How we ranked 20 power systems 1:13 #10 The Death Note's rules 2:29 #9 Geass (Code Geass) 3:37 #8 Magic (Frieren) 4:44 #7 Quirks (My Hero Academia) 5:51 #6 Drawn magic (Witch Hat Atelier) 7:09 What the best power systems share 7:48 Honourable mentions 8:54 #5 Trion & Triggers (World Trigger) 10:06 #4 Stands (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) 11:22 #3 Cursed Energy (Jujutsu Kaisen) 12:36 #2 Alchemy (Fullmetal Alchemist) 14:00 #1 The best power system in anime 15:54 The verdict + your turn 📺 SERIES FEATURED Attack on Titan · Chainsaw Man · Code Geass · Death Note · Frieren: Beyond Journey's End · Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood · Hunter x Hunter · JoJo's Bizarre Adventure · Jujutsu Kaisen · My Hero Academia · Naruto · One Piece · Witch Hat Atelier · World Trigger ⚠️ SPOILERS Rules and early arcs are spoiler-light.
