4RUNNER DJ SESSIONS: Deep West Coast Underground (Part 2)

ILL PASO WEEKLY MIXTAPE – SEPTEMBER 23, 2026 POP THA TRUNK: MOUNTAIN EDITION – PART 2 Part 2 of this week’s ILL Paso Weekly Mixtape continues the Pop Tha Trunk session from the mountains of Southern New Mexico! The original plan for this session was to drive the Toyota 4Runner up to Sunspot, New Mexico and perform the mix there. But after turning onto the Sunspot Highway near Cloudcroft, the fog continued getting thicker and the conditions started changing. Rather than continuing farther toward Sunspot, I pulled over at the Haynes Canyon Vista Observation Site, opened up the back of the 4Runner, set up the DJ equipment and turned the unexpected stop into this week’s Pop Tha Trunk session. The entire mix was performed LIVE from the Toyota 4Runner and streamed LIVE on TikTok. Part 2 takes the mix deep into the West Coast underground. Aceyalone kicks things off with The Guidelines before Pac Div, LIKE, Mibbs & Beyoung come through with Get Off. From there we move into Da Beatminerz with The Last Emperor and Wordsworth before Volume 10, Hieroglyphics and Freestyle Fellowship take the session even deeper into that distinctive underground Hip Hop sound. Boom Bap. Underground Hip Hop. West Coast lyricism. Mixed outside in the foggy mountains from the back of a Toyota 4Runner. No studio. No prerecorded set. Just DJ equipment, a 4Runner, the mountains and Hip Hop.
