Riding Home From China | China To Singapore by motorcycle Part 7 Finale

China → Laos → Thailand → Malaysia → Singapore The finale. After riding my XL750 from Singapore all the way into China, exploring Yunnan and covering countless roads along the way, it's finally time to turn south and begin the long ride home. Our final stretch in China takes us to Jinghong, easily one of the busiest places we encountered during the entire trip. Traffic was slow and packed, tourists were everywhere, and once night fell the city completely transformed with colourful lights and brightly lit buildings in every direction. The next morning, we leave Jinghong and ride towards the Mohan border. It's also time to say goodbye to Bing, our tour guide, and the China support crew who have been travelling with us throughout this part of the journey. We cross out of China and enter Laos in the morning. By evening, we've crossed another border and made it back into Thailand. From there, the long journey south continues through Malaysia towards Singapore. And somewhere along the North-South Highway near Ipoh, we unexpectedly meet another pair of overlanders. A couple travelling down from Italy towards Malaysia on a 1990s Honda Transalp. I had ridden from Singapore to China on the modern XL750 Transalp. They had brought an old Transalp halfway across the world. A pretty fitting encounter towards the end of this journey. 📍 Part 7: Jinghong Mohan Laos Thailand Malaysia Singapore Seven parts. What started as a solo ride out of Singapore turned into thousands of kilometres, strangers becoming riding companions, countless border crossings, mountains, ancient towns, trails and roads I had never seen before.
