From the sacred stages of Greece, theatre entered the monumental world of Rome. ECHOES BENEATH MARBLE SKIES explores the grandeur, rhythm, and public spectacle of Ancient Roman theatre. In vast stone venues, performance became more architectural, more civic, and more expansive — blending drama, mime, pantomime, music, and visual spectacle before large audiences. The music reflects this world through a Roman-inspired palette centered on paired tibiae, supported by cithara, lyra, scabellum, cymbala, crotala, frame drum, small hand percussion, and wordless choral textures. Stronger rhythmic movement and broader ensemble layers give the piece a more monumental and public character than the earlier Greek chapters. The result is a bright, ceremonial, and theatrical soundscape shaped by marble architecture, open skies, movement, and the evolving language of the ancient stage.
