THEME: The Prayer Lifestyle of Jesus (The High Priest) Prayer as a Platform for Intimacy Scripture Text: Jeremiah 33:3, John 17:1-5 Memory Verse "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." (Jeremiah 33:3 KJV) Introduction Prayer is far more than a spiritual routine; it is the dedicated vehicle of intimacy that transforms belief into living experience. This practice serves as the discipline for cultivating a deep and abiding consciousness of God's presence. Such awareness is not automatic; it must be intentionally nurtured through consistent and open communion. How do we get intimate through prayer? 1. Hunger: A man that is hungry for God can only express it through desire (Psalm 4:1-2, Proverbs 18:1). 2. Intentionality and sincerity (Matthew 6:6). 3. Through fellowship: when we pray, we fellowship with the divine (1 Corinthians 1:9, 1 John 1:3) Class Discussion In your opinion, do you think a believer can just be intimate through studying the word alone, and why?
