Where the Long Green Feathers Fly

Green wings flash through the rain as long-tailed parakeets race above the forests and mangroves of Southeast Asia. “Where the Long Green Feathers Fly” turns that burst of colour and sound into a cinematic alternative-rock and nu-metal anthem, complete with palm-muted guitars, forceful drums, electronics, bamboo flute, and an explosive layered chorus. Version 1 follows Belocercus longicaudus through lowland forest, mangrove habitat, plantations, and the fruiting trees that bring feeding flocks together. Although these parakeets also visit cultivated areas, they remain dependent on forests for breeding and communal nesting. The species is classified as Vulnerable, with habitat loss and capture for the bird trade contributing to its decline.
